Who we are
Seamless connection across East Africa.
With more than 30 years of flying behind it and over 130 employees, AirKenya is a pioneer of the East African safari circuit — connecting travellers to the region’s most iconic wilderness from a private terminal at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport.
Since the mid-1970s
A pioneer of the safari circuit
Since the mid-1970s AirKenya has set the pace: the first airline to fly into the Maasai Mara, and the first to recruit Kenya’s female pilots. Routes have since opened across Kenya, from the southern parks to the northern frontier.
The airline operates from its own terminal at Wilson Airport, where a private lounge offers premium refreshments, free Wi-Fi and a boutique stocked with travel essentials and souvenirs. From there, a small cohort of passengers boards one of the airline’s private aircraft bound for an airstrip deep inside a reserve.
Safari draws a particular mix of travellers — royalty, global executives and first-time visitors alike — and AirKenya flies all of them with the same attention. Through its sister carriers, RegionalAir in Tanzania and AeroLink in Uganda, it reaches further across the region than any comparable operator.

What sets us apart
Three things that define AirKenya
01
The original safari airline
AirKenya flew into the Maasai Mara before anyone else did, and was the first carrier to put Kenyan women in the cockpit. That head start is now decades of airstrip knowledge.
02
Built for the bush
The fleet is deliberately made up of classic types with the short-field performance bush flying demands. The aircraft are maintained and upgraded to international standards, so reliability is not traded for capability.
03
One region, one network
Shared with RegionalAir in Tanzania and AeroLink in Uganda, the fleet links Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda — and the Mara to the Serengeti and to Bwindi — under a single airline group.
